By booking lessons with Drive with Confidence, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions. If anything isn't clear, just ask — Richard is happy to explain.

1. General Terms

1. All driving lessons are provided in accordance with the UK Highway Code.
2. Students must carry a valid UK provisional driving licence at all times during lessons.
3. Lessons are conducted in dual-controlled vehicles insured for tuition purposes.

2. Booking and Payments

1. Lessons must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.
2. Payments must be made at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
3. Payment methods accepted include bank transfer, cheque, or cash.
4. Any block booking discounts are valid only for the specified duration, and unused lessons will not be refunded after the expiration date.

3. Cancellation and Rescheduling

1. A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson without incurring a fee.
2. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the lesson will be charged at the full lesson rate unless due to exceptional circumstances (proof may be required).
3. In the event of the instructor needing to cancel a lesson, a full refund or rescheduling option will be provided.
4. Lateness to your lesson will be deducted from your booked time. Lateness from the instructor will be added to the lesson or a future lesson.

4. Student Responsibilities

1. Students must attend lessons in a fit and sober condition. The instructor reserves the right to refuse a lesson if the student appears unfit, with the lesson charged in full.
2. Students are responsible for bringing their provisional licence to every lesson.
3. Students must notify the instructor of any changes to their driving licence status, including endorsements or restrictions.
4. Footwear must be comfortable and not easily removed — no flip flops or sliders.
5. In the event that you appear unable to concentrate due to illness, tiredness, or emotional state of mind, the instructor reserves the right to terminate the lesson early or agree an alternative safe learning activity.

5. Instructor Responsibilities

1. Lessons will be conducted in a professional, courteous, and safe manner.
2. The instructor will ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and insured for lessons.
3. The instructor will provide feedback after each lesson and tailor future lessons to the student's progress and needs.
4. The instructor cannot be responsible for lesson cancellations due to mechanical breakdown but will endeavour to find a replacement vehicle as soon as possible.
5. You will be supplied with a dual-controlled car in a clean, roadworthy, and tidy condition. Smoking is prohibited in all driving school vehicles.

6. Practical Driving Test

1. Use of the instructor's vehicle for a driving test is subject to the instructor's approval.
2. Students are responsible for booking their driving test with the DVSA and notifying the instructor promptly of the test date and time.
3. The instructor reserves the right to withdraw the vehicle for the test if the student is deemed unprepared.
4. The DVSA requires ten working days' notice (Sundays and public holidays excluded) for test cancellation or postponement. Failure to provide this notice will result in the loss of your test fee. The instructor cannot be held responsible for postponements or cancellations by you or the DVSA, but will do everything possible to help arrange another test and reclaim expenses from the DVSA where appropriate.

7. Liability

1. Drive with Confidence accepts no liability for personal belongings lost or damaged during lessons.
2. The instructor is not responsible for any legal penalties incurred by the student while driving outside of lessons.
3. Primary responsibility for traffic offences — including speeding or bus lane fines incurred during a lesson — falls upon the learner driver.
4. The instructor will take every opportunity to help a student avoid incurring any driving penalty.

8. Complaints and Feedback

1. Any complaints or concerns should be directed to the school in writing via email.
2. The business aims to resolve all complaints within 14 working days.

9. Data Protection

1. Drive with Confidence complies with UK GDPR regulations. Personal data collected is used solely for lesson scheduling, billing, and communication purposes.
2. Student information will not be shared with third parties without explicit consent unless required by law.
3. Consent to use your image in any social media posts will be agreed beforehand.

10. Amendments

1. Drive with Confidence reserves the right to update these terms and conditions at any time.
2. Students will be notified of significant changes via email or during lessons.
